    Phoronix: The First Benchmarks Of The Intel-Powered ODROID-H2 $111 Board

    Last month ODROID announced an Intel-powered single board computer after their experimenting with a Ryzen SBC hadn't panned out for this company known for their high-performance ARM SBCs. The ODROID-H2 has begun shipping as this $111 USD Intel x86_64 quad-core board while for your viewing pleasure today are some initial performance benchmarks of this board...

    unfortunately Intel only allows HDR on their core i series chips not their celeron or pentium chips which rules this out as a htpc for many. I wonder why a ryzen-based SBC didn't work out.

      One of the main reasons to go for an ARM chip is for low power applications.
      It would be interesting to see performance/watt for these.

          a (OPTIONAL) version with 2 intel network cards would have been perfect for a pfsense
          why does everyone make such a fuss because of 5€ ectracosts?

            I wonder if it supports external batteries. If it does, it would be a great little project to turn it into a custom laptop with a real mechanical keyb!
            Hell, you could fit 10 18650 and still maintain a 13'' form factor!

              @Michael: How can a Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ outperform a B+ model? Did I miss something?

                AFAIK you have the Uddo bolt, in the works,
                UDOO is a family of Open Source Arduino-powered Mini PC and Single Board Computer, compatible with Windows, Android and any Linux Distro.

                  Does it have spdif/toslink output? (EDIT: yes, it has)
                  Is it able to do h265 in-hardware decoding?(EDIT: yes, it is!... what about HEVC@10bit?)
                  I need a replacement for my *old* ION1+atom htpc

                    That is really expensive, cheaper to buy an intel NUC.
