Considering Qualcomm announced layoffs of 1500 people less than a month ago just to reduce costs it's probably to be expected that a division still in the process of establishing itself and thus does not yet have positive cash flow is going to find itself under threat of being axed. For their sake I hope Qualcomm management realizes how stupid it would be to just throw away all that investment by shutting it all down and either don't go trough with it or sell it to some investment company that understands the profit potential of the division in question.

I get the feeling this along with the layoffs is really all about increasing the short term profit and stock value as part of a two-strike plan to increase executive bonuses and deter takeover bids like the recent one by Broadcom.

This sounds a bit like the steam machine... "nobody buys it" Well, I had a hard time finding one. Only the Zotac SN-970 and the alienware were available in the Netherlands. What NL or even EU based company sells arm servers?
Personally I will probably set up an odroid HC1 based cloud. With spectre and such, it's better to seperate clients onto their own hardware.

You can order these today. $1210 and it ships from Japan. http://www.chip1stop.com/web/USA/en/...001&cid=SOCIEB

It's a true development board. 96Boards has so many disclaimers on it, I would probably spend all my time working around them.
