This was added to Gentoo today. On my Sandy Bridge (i5 2500K) I now get:

$ cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/vulnerabilities/spectre_v2
Mitigation: Full generic retpoline, IBPB

(IBPB was missing before the microcode update.)

You mean when? Fedora ships it with the microcode_ctl package which is installed by default. The next version will probably have it.

I meant how as in 'via what package' and you answered that, thank you! But you're right, my followup question would have been 'when', so you nailed that, too. Thanks again!
