Yeah, not sure whose fab is the limiting factor right now - could be memory rather than the GPU itself. In both cases we depend on third party fabs.

I'm sure by now someone must have pointed out that gaming benchmarks for all intents and purposes don't matter any more, seeing how the price of video cards from both vendors has skyrocketed to the point where pc gaming, if not already dead, will soon be dead and buried.

Honestly, I don't think there is any hope, short of Nvidia and AMD drastically ramping up production, and I don't think that will happen so...

Yes, the fact that the idiot puts a smiling face after every second sentence is enough to show that it's a troll. Oh how I wish blocklist were working on this site.

We have it in for BioShock Infinite, but NOT for Openarena, currently.
Yet Bioshock didn't show any kind of difference compared to the other benchmarks. It seems to me that mesa's multi-threading is almost non-existant. Anyway I agree that it would be nice to see the same benchmark with mesa_glthread=true.

True, no one should use Windows XP wallpaper anymore, because Windows 98 wallpaper saves a lot of memory bandwidth

It is all about creators, design and limitations, save a bandwidth as much as possible and then push it as much as possible, together with all animals sitting there on Noah's Ark. You can sail like that until you hit some rock, then you will know a new era just begun

i can continue to post pictures and people will continue to see something else in these with their compressed glasses
