Phoronix: AMD CPUs Are Vulnerable To Spectre / Variant 2

Hm, i still see answers as yes, maybe and not because:

While we believe that AMD’s processor architectures make it difficult to exploit Variant 2, we continue to work closely with the industry on this threat.
That more sounds like - we must accept trampoline, does not matter if we will jump with one leg or two

its not exploitable unless you change linux jit parameters so IF YOU ARE AN AMD USER ADD noretpoline TO BOOT PARAMETERS

Yeah, sounds like AMD users should disable that but there is push it seems that you must accept default for even 'maybe' reason

yeah, sounds fine to me, lets give users a performance drop by default to fix an issue that only happens in non-default [/irony]

AND IF YOU DON'T WANT VIRUSES ADD noviruses TO BOOT PARAMETERS.

Bullshit is constitutional part of our world, so even maybeness should be prevented even if it is not working AS IS

There should be givemeperf parameter for these ready to burn things all around
