      The 96Boards offerings have been so disappointing so far. Lets hope these "enterprise edition" boards have some more grunt and better I/O.
      I'm not so sure about using SO-DIMM for RAM though. It's nice that it will be expandable, but why not full sized DIMMs to make it cheaper? Maybe because 96Boards spec'ed the boards so small. Size isn't my major concern with these boards - even twice their size would be alright.

          Say what you want but I'm really very excited about this good news. I'm getting one for sure.

          Yes there are octa core phones and tablets but those are 8 puny cores. AMD cores will probably work much better so being a quad core is not such a big deal.

            Weren't those 8-core CPU's really two integrated 4-core CPU's in most cases? One for low-power usage and the when there is a need for more grunt, but still two seperate CPU's nonetheless?

                Some are indeed big-little dual quad core designs but some are just little meaning they have 8 A53 cores.

                  Right, because number of cores means everything. Not to mention, what you're referring to are big.LITTLE processors, which hardly qualify as octa-cores.


                  Personally, I'm excited for this board AMD is making. If it's cheap enough, it could be the first ARM platform that caters to PC enthusiasts. Most other ARM boards are just a novelty or are relatively obsolete when they're new.
