    The closed source Vulkan driver shares a lot of code with other APIs, so dropping it would only save work that had already been done. Porting radv to, and maintaining it on on Windows without that shared code base would add a bunch of ongoing work.

    The only way it would make sense would be if it turned out that sharing low level code between Vulkan and the other APIs was proving to be a big burden (ie the APIs were pulling in different directions) and that dropping the need to support Vulkan on that shared code base would significantly simplify things. In that case it could make sense, but I haven't heard any indications that the scenario is real.
