The 480 isn't able to use its potential. It should be right above 970. As you could see the overhead is still very big with AMD and OpenGL - except for this is related to missing features.

Don't worry nVidia, AMD and Mesa would optimize for it in future... they all like to look nice at bench numbers

Rx 480 seems somewhat in line with guru3d's win dx benches... on extreme 18 fps there and here Michael get 16 fps

Interesting that they say DX11 is tested, but Michael mentioned DX12 in the article... maybe a typo

Whille nVidia here looks like slower or the same depending on asic Also Fury looks slower here on Linux 19 for Michael, but 25 on Windows...

But OK i guess Michael would do Winows vs Linux sometime, to leaverage other hardware differences really that would be most proper.

Funniest thing that happens is that at 8K where RX 480 actually beat GTX 1080 but also 4 GB cards gets out

Fury X HBM also beats GTX 1080 starting as 4K and 5k Funny benchmark results as soon as you go to extreme settings with extreme resoultions
