How to update Intel Graphic card driver?

Hi,

The Intel Graphic Installer tool for Linux landed at version 1.1.0 at the beginning of June this year. This is a good thing. However, it is not intended for Ubuntu 14.04/Mint 17 as no support was provided for these versions with the latest Graphic Installer.

This made me wonder, how do i know if i have the latest Intel GPU driver installed on my Mint 17 system and how could i update my driver?

You can try oibaf's PPA:

But it would be good to update your kernel too, as we have received user reports of recent intel drivers not working properly with older kernels.
