The only real problem i'm getting is with l4d2 not rendering/loading the hair for the survivors.

Can anyone else with mesa 10.3.0-devel check if they are having this issue ?

I figured out my issue here.
The "shader detail" setting must be "low" or "med". The "high" and "very high" setting result in black instead of the hair textures appearing.

There seem to be a few issues with the latest Sanctum2 game as well requiring low settings, possibly related.

the HD5870 and 6870 are almost identical in terms of gaming performance. The key differences are the 6870 supports tesselation better while the 5870 has double precision compute support and came in an Eyefinity6 version with double the vRAM over stock.

He tested 7870 on a lower resolution...

some days ago i made some tests with my kaveri. Cpu multipler is set
to 42x, igpu is set 1100mhz , ram used 2400mhz with 11-13-13-30 timings.

at the first set of bencmarks a process from kde took over and the numbers
were not correct, the second sets are fine.

Does anyone else have stuttering issues with catalyst? I mean, I can get ridiculously high frame rates with my r9 290 but there are so many fps drops it makes catalyst basically unusable.
I had the same problem with my A10-5800K

Ahh, so "with" in the sense of "in the same chart". Got it.

Which is why i said "mostly". At least the crashes are fixed now.

My TV is a Vizio E390-B0 and with Catalyst 14.4, there is no slider to correct underscan. I don't have that problem with Mesa/radeon driver.
So, I just bought a 32" Panasonic LCD (1080p) and have decided to use that as my main monitor. Unfortunately, when I hooked it up to my computer, I had under-scan with both Windows 7 x64 and Ubuntu Karmic x64 (using a Radeon HD 4870 1GB). In Windows, there was a simple slider in the Catalyst Control Center to fix the under-scan issue. Unfortunately, the same option wasn't available with the Linux counterpart. I searched online for some answers, but all the ones I found seemed outdated, or

That fixed the issue for me.
