  • Benchmarks/ lacking features using 3DMark and wine

I just got 3DMark 2001 SE working under wine and decided to give my Radeon 9500 a whirl. No surprise it did very poorly, at 1500. The same card under Windows gets closer to 11000. However, I noticed some features like vertex shading didn't work. Wondering if this is a wine issue or fglrx. The machine is dual boot and obviously, a Radeon 9500 is DirectX 8 feature complete. Anyway... I thought it would be cool to share and see if anybody else here was crazy enough to use 3DMark under wine to check out their linux graphics cards.

At the very least its a benchmark, let me know if any good native linux graphics benchmarks (ideally something like 3DMark but for Linux OpenGL features) exist. Gentoo suggests using wine or G.O.B.S. (GL Open Benchmark Suite) which looks alpha to me.

Most easy way would be using games/demos which run with both OS like Doom3 or Quake4.
