Proposal: new GPUs benchmarks

Hi Michael,

One thing is really missing from fantastic Phoronix is testing GPUs (and driver quality) under WINE.
I think if you would pick some reference games (which maybe can perform some benchmarks) and test them against different video cards, that would be awesome but most of all very insightful regarding video card GPUs and drivers quality, because let's not forget that HW is nothing without good software.

What do you think?

Not really.
If you stick with a defined version of wine (like the release one), then it would be a benchmark of the system and quality of drivers.
I read on the forums that a lot of people with AMD/ATi devices (or people who would like to buy one - like myself) are a bit uncomfortable due to this.
I'm not talking about trying to running a patched wine to play latest Crysis, but to use a stable version to run a benchmark (and it can be a demo as well like the ones here: http://www.pouet.net).
