    Phoronix: Linux 6.0 Graphics Driver Changes Preparing For Intel DG2/Alchemist & AMD RDNA3

    Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) subsystem maintainer David Airlie has submitted all of the open-source GPU/display driver updates for the Linux 6.0 (nee 5.20) merge window. Much of this work is centered around bringing up the Intel Arc Graphics DG2/Alchemist discrete graphics cards and on the AMD side continued work around enabling RDNA3 and Instinct MI300 graphics processors...

    Definition of née

      It's just a shorter way to say "formerly called". It used to be 5.20, but now it's called 6.0. So, née 5.20 is correct.
      Edit: I might have misinterpreted your post. If you're saying it looks like a typo but actually isn't, then I agree

        News of Intels graphics drivers for the new GPUs on Windows were not good. It would be cool if the Linux drivers would be in a better state than those, at the time Linuxers could get their hands on the cards for a reasonable price.
