Phoronix: Radeon RX 5700 / RX 5700 XT Linux Gaming Performance With AMDGPU 5.3 + Mesa 19.2-devel

Now that the flow of initial Navi fixes and optimizations has settled down for both the AMDGPU DRM kernel driver and the Mesa RADV/RadeonSI user-space driver components, here is a look at AMD Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT graphics card performance on Ubuntu Linux at the end of July, now three weeks after these 7nm graphics cards first shipped.

    nice results.
how is the temperature holding with the new updates?
power consumption is still the same as before?

Here's someone who did a lot of power tweaking: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gamin...adv_is_usable/

Is it just me or did AMD slow down?

In the first Navi benchmark, it was ultra-fast.

So it's a RVII with a blower. Price is improved, at least.

              And much less power use.

Strange Brigade is an example of the fact that focusing on FPS alone is not telling the whole picture.

While having fewer FPS, the AMD cards have a much more consistent frame rate it seems. The MIN FPS almost doubles the ones from Nvidia cards. (~40 vs ~20 in the high end)

The previous results included more OpenGL benchmarks, and RadeonSI is often faster than RADV.

agree with marek, are these games use Vulkan/OpenGL api and run natively on Linux, or most likely DX12/11 via wine ?!
what I am trying to state is, i think generally AMD graphics out perform nVidia for Vulkan/OpenGL based games both on Linux and Windows, but especially on Linux, though could not find recent reviews in this regards
while Intel/nVidia duo generally do better with DX12/11 games ..
