athk10 is the driver + firmware blobs for Qualcomm-Atheros wifi ac cards and routers. They added support for a new chip of theirs, called QCA9888.

Does anyone know about QCA9377? Or just how to know whether or not QCA9377 has been added to kernel 4.8? (Note that it might've been added even before. Last time I checked was with Ubuntu 16.04, so kernel 4.4 if I remember correctly).

Not exactly, but my Acer laptop (Aspire VN7-572G) has a QCA6174 which is on some kind of swappable card (it isn't MiniPCI-E; not sure what it is)

If I recall correctly, an old TP-Link card I had had some kind of Atheros chipset.

I'm asking 'cause I've been installing it manually since Ubuntu 15.04. I thought maybe 16.04 would work from the get go, but no dice. Perhaps 16.04.1 will...

Not sure if the same issue is going on, but with my QCA6174, I had to update linux-firmware to 1.158 I think (whatever version 16.10 is using) for it to work.
