According to http://anandtech.com/show/9958/compu...airtop-systems, you can replace anything besides mobo

It's a bug with the forums.

Sometimes the forum software acts odd, and then I need to manually approve things.

              just plain stupid
              cpu has fan
              videocard has fan
they will scream blowing hot air inside passive case
just add large slow case fan, it will make inside air cold and cpu and videocard coolers less noisy

They are bolting the CPU and GPUs directly to the heat spreaders on the outside sides of the case. They really do mean 0 fans, not a normal GPU bolted inside a sealed case.

On other notes, I hope SPCR also can get a sample. I like his stress test and rigorous measurements. Phoronix is great for the linux compatability tests. I suspect that the HDDs will transmit sound to the exterior via vibration. They seemed fairly rigidly mounted. SSDs of course would be better, but you won't get 10TB of storage space then.

I wonder if it's still noisy, after all air is still moving around...

Unlikely, the tubes shouldn't create the same sort of turbulence or motor noise that a fan does.
