I have been researching slim mini-ITX computer cases for weeks now and I came across Streacom FC5 fanless case. Meaning, no fans, but silent. This is nice for AMD Athlon 5150 or 5350 APU. Plus, unlike all the 1U/1.3U rackmount servers, the Streacom has a hole for a DC-IN power connector, which is very nice as I've done some researching for covers that cover up the 1U PSU hole. According to the PDF manual for installing the hard drives, the picture illustrates that I can fit four 2.5" hard drives or 3 3.5" hard drives. Does it look like I can fit 3 2.5" hard drives and 2 3.5" hard drives? But only if I have a Mini-PCIe card with an additional SATA slot.
With all that said, is the Streacom FC5 worth the $300 cost of a case with a couple of different SSD/HDD configurations? Or are there any similar slim Mini-ITX cases with decent number of storage configurations? Maybe something that can be converted into a rackmount server?
