I notice I type much faster on mechanical keys than I do on mushy keys. Scissors keys are kinda in the middle for me. A lot of other people I've talked to feel the same way, and a lot of other people I've talked to give me blank stares or laugh about it. I think every individual needs to decide for himself or herself. I know, for myself, when I've had to make do with cheap mushy keyboards, I typed slower.

Honestly, at this point, I have come to regard the keyboard as the most important component in my computer. Spending more than $50 on a video card seems perverse to me, yet dropping $250 on a good keyboard makes sense. I think this is one of those "your mileage may vary" type of things.
