HDMI licensing group needs to put it where sun don't shine. Please and thank you. That's very much trash I don't need. Just my respectful opinion

More unusable garbage. Everyone should be using DisplayPort.

DP is nice but boy is it so complicated. It's not really a wonder why it's not as common. but well thats what happens when you have a protocol that suits everyone's needs.

Just like HDMI, you plug and it works. What are you encountering with DP that's complicated, that isn't for HDMI?

I think the primary issue with DP is the leniency involved in misrepresentation of DP2.1 marketing. Some could argue it verges on a scam (e.g. certain gaming monitors or cable manufacturers etc.).

With daisy-chaining and/or USB-C the bandwidth/version combinations get quite complex.

These are things that HDMI flat out can't do at all. If DP offers more things, and they aren't easy, that's not a win for HDMI. Everything HDMI does, DP does as well, as easily, or better. That's the point I was making.
