Who the hell buys a USB Trackpad? It's so unintuitive in comparison to a mouse.

People with carpal tunnel, RSI, or other accessibility needs. This is wonderfully welcome news.

The Magic Trackpad is the best touchpad there is, full stop. I’m using them since 2012, next to my mouse. You don’t have to do everything with a trackpad, but it’s enormously convenient to scroll (pixel-perfect!), execute commands by gestures, plus the buttery smooth site scrolling in Firefox (when you enable it) with trackpads is just state of the art.
But don’t buy the white one.

There's a whole community of ergomech split keyboard users out there, many of whom swear by the Apple trackpad. Stick one of those suckers between your halves and that's about as ergonomic and usable a setup as you can get your hands on. Plus what holunder said. I'm going to pull the trigger on it soon as well.

For ⅓ of the price I'd buy one. I'm usually more comfortable even with a cheap old laptop touchpad than with a mouse.

I'd agree if we were talking about Synaptics' and other mfg's pads for PCs. They're nearly across the board awful, IMO. But Apple's trackpads are pretty useful and relatively intuitive - at least on MacOS anyway. That said, I'm definitely not in holunder's camp in gushing effusive for even Apple's pad. There's a lot of cases where the trackpad is more annoying than useful to me, especially slinging files around a lot. For those reasons, I have an MX3 mouse that I keep with my MBP. Apple's touchpad is good when space is tight, but otherwise I prefer a mouse.

But holunder indirectly makes an important point, one person's unintuitive is another's ideal. It's also the case that one person's opinion, is still just an opinion, not a fact. Others can hold equally valid opposed opinions. That's one of the problems that makes designing a UX challenging.
