because *according to rumors* : "According to a fairly reputed source on Twitter (@Broly_X1), AMD has canceled its Van Gogh APU lineup aimed at ultra-low-power notebooks and convertibles"...

One thing odd, though. Most of the times, SuSE were developing for others the audio drivers. Has AMD started developing their own drivers? I ask because the SuSE guys are really quick to squash bugs (from experience with some bloody old Yamaha chips)

It also wasn't mentioned during the last AMD update a month ago or so, while they did talk about every thing else that was coming during H2.

Not hard to imagine that AMD found itself in a crunch for fab capacity (are console chips on that node?) and decided to defer or drop a lower-margin product they hadn't released yet.

Might also have found they weren't getting the design wins they hoped for, as Intel fights back with Tiger Lake. The jump to Zen 3 is not trivial, could be saying "we'll wait for that".

I think it was because Van Gogh was intended for a major product, e.g. a Surface, that got shelved. However, there has been chatter about Valve making a Steam handheld gaming PC and Van Gogh would be perfect for that (weaker than Rembrandt but with better battery life).

Leaked roadmaps have "Dragon Crest" as a ~2022 successor to Van Gogh, but as a refresh with the same Zen 2 + RDNA 2. So something like Van Gogh will probably appear eventually even if Van Gogh is never announced/released.

Probably, if it's meant to be the competitor to ~9W Intel chips in ultrabooks.

You may be interested in "Monet". That's a rumored product that would be on GlobalFoundries 12LP+, which looks like a significant improvement to the 12nm node they were using before. Quad-core Zen 3, with less RDNA 2 CUs than even Van Gogh. It could ship in chunkier laptops with upgradeable RAM.
