DRM-Next feature cut-off ends like ~2 weeks prior to the next stable kernel release. So this code is basically already two (or one - as sometimes features do slip in late) week late. That's due to Linus complaining before when DRM code is merged at the last minute ahead of the merge window it tends to be along the lines of 'untested crap.'
