The response here is predictable. The education system is designed to produce corporate automatons and is extremely successful in its mission. As a result, the more "educated" an individual in most western society becomes, the more unable they are to see obvious truths. Combine this with the quest for consumerism and the compromises of integrity required to attain it and society is left with decision makers at all levels who are willing to ignore the obvious, at their expense and even that of their own children.
The medical and scientific literature perfectly validates each of the points I've made here, for those who are willing to seek truth over indoctrination. For the layman, a tertiary search of popular books on this subject is presented here, for your reading pleasure.

Meanwhile, if I search with LoRa I find modules costing around 20$ apiece (chinese stuff at around half that) and a whole lot of libraries and projects supporting them on Arduino and other similar microcontrollers.

First you said you can't find wmbus products on the market...them you say that you can find but only for corporate markets...the 2 sentences together seems...ambigous.
Second,
I doubt you can find chinese stuff on LoRa, at low prices because LoRa is closed.
Instead wmbus, is a openstandard!
The providers algo offers you free libraries and all stuff you need.
Third,
I doubt the chinese could ever provide you a LoRa system with the Quality of STMicroelectronics..
If you scroll down the page...it costs you 1.38$ a piece!!

A quick Google search revealed these:
It is documented that electromagnetic emissions from mobile phones can interfere with brain's signal processing activity due to their oscillatory similitude to the inherent rhythms of the brain, akin to "electromagnetic interference" observed while using mobile phones in aeroplanes. I don't have electrical engineers in my closet, I can't (and quite frankly most companies don't want either) to build my own board for something like this.
