If I remember correctly, they're calling it the "Secure Processor" now instead of the PSP.

Nearly all desktop/laptop class ARM cpus come with a Android-only blob GPU driver.

An AMD cpu is about their best bet currently, the management engine is about the only required blob (what was the name in AMD's terminology ? FSP ?)
      We can only dream: https://www.reddit.com/r/System76/co...em76_to_start/

Nice find. So they can be going the ARM way, interesting. We know Apple is investing heavily on these to have full control over their offerings, so is not unsurprising other companies are looking more seriously to ARM too.

For a while now ARM is promising desktop-like performance in future ships, maybe System76 was there to check out those claims.

I would'n say, the price is doubling importing in EU, but.
++ Usualy No Warrany, warranty available in US is practically useless. Better a Dell or HP.

Why is AMD their best best when we have RISC-V?

If they release ARM-based transformer or laptop I would buy it!

RISC-V or Power9 would be awesome.
It's about time the hardware starts being open also!

100% agree but I think they can't release anything that would compete from RISC-V yet. It still needs a lot of development for desktop replacements. I suspect it'll be a "open source" (extra quotes required) thing that will be mostly closed source where it counts.

Wrong, AMD requires a binary blob also for hardware bringup phase, just like Intel has FSP AMD has AGESA.

The management engine is another thing added.

Would be cool to have some RISC-V hardware at all, besides the SiFive.
