The release candidate of GNOME 3.0 is due out, and the final release is just days away (6 April), but the GNOME Shell continues to advance with just days to go. GNOME Shell 2.91.92 is now available with a number of improvements.

The noteworthy improvements in this new GNOME Shell release is a new network indicator for NetworkManager 0.9 (with fall-back support for the older nm-applet for those not running the newest NetworkManager), multi-monitor improvements, message tray improvements, faster searching, and a performance testing framework.

The multi-monitor improvements to the GNOME Shell include changing the window positioning code, taking advantage of new multi-monitor features in Mutter, support for pointer barriers with the XFixes extension, and not sliding out workspace selectors if at the edge of a monitor boundary.

The GNOME Shell 2.91.92 release also has various visual tweaks and bug-fixes.
