FOSDEM 2011 Is The 5th & 6th Of February
The staff behind the Free Software Developers' European Meeting (FOSDEM) have just announced that the 2011 conference will take place on the 5th and 6th of February. This is the first weekend of February, which is right around the time that the other FOSDEMs have taken place. Like always, this event will be taking place in Brussels, Belgium.
A call for speakers and development rooms will be going out soon so at this point there really isn't a whole of information about FOSDEM 2011 besides the date. Sadly, X@FOSDEM is likely dead after poor attendance and presentations this year with very few speakers coming forward it ended up only being a half-day affair. This is a pity if there are no X.Org discussions to be had at next year's FOSDEM, but perhaps next month during the 2010 X Developers' Summit in Toulouse there will be some organized effort for speakers to try to present at FOSDEM 2011 if the conference organizers can be wooed into granting an X.Org development room as in past years.
Depending upon the X.Org outcome, there may or may not be 2011 FOSDEM live coverage on Phoronix. Details for this leading open-source and Linux conference can be found at FOSDEM.org.
