MPlayer 1.0 RC3 Finally Arrives
MPlayer 1.0 initially entered its release candidate phase in 2006 followed by a second release candidate in October of 2007. A third release candidate was supposed to be made available in 2009 following the release of FFmpeg 0.5, but it never ended up actually being released. However, today MPlayer 1.0 RC3 has been finally released.
MPlayer 1.0 RC3 is compatible with the FFmpeg 0.5.x branch and the new features it brings, support for new binary codecs, NVIDIA VDPAU acceleration, support for new architectures / platforms, and other changes. While MPlayer 1.0 RC3 was just released, MPlayer developers recommend using Subversion snapshots.
