A few (small) interesting tidbits of information to report on from this afternoon's OSCON...

- Along with delivering the source-code to Launchpad within the next twelve months, Canonical is working on a number of new Launchpad features. One area that will receive quite a bit of love is with the translations support. One example is that the Launchpad language translations service will allow the user to see where a string is used in a particular piece of software all within Launchpad's integrated code viewer. Launchpad will also see an improved registration process and improved support.

- We've heard through the grapevine that Dell's "netbook" they'll be introducing next month is running Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

- Currently there are two X.Org-oriented conferences each year: the X Developers' Conference (XDC) and the X Developers' Summit (XDS). However, for management reasons it looks like they may begin having only one conference each year. Meanwhile, the 2008 X Developers' Summit will be taking place the first week of September (not the second week like what was reported earlier this year, X Developers To Meet At The Zoo). The X.Org Foundation is also looking at potentially partnering up with another free software conference (if you want to express any, let them know).

- NVIDIA looks to be doing something interesting in the next month or thereabouts (not related to OSCON, more information on that later).
