Intel Skylake Support Merged Into Mainline Mesa
With being early on in the Mesa 10.5 development cycle, Intel developers have gone ahead and merged their initial Skylake support branch into Mesa Git master.
Skylake, the late 2015 successor to Broadwell, has had open-source HD Graphics support patches floating around for a number of weeks now. With the Linux 3.19 merge window now open and the initial Skylake support landing within the Intel DRM driver, Intel developers have gone ahead and merged their user-space Mesa 3D patches.
A number of the Skylake patches were merged today -- including the initial hardware PCI IDs -- to make the OpenGL driver support possible when also paired with the Linux 3.19 kernel. Stay tuned for more Skylake Linux developments in the months ahead.
