DNF 0.4.18 Boasts Distro-Syncing, Objectified Groups

The DNF next-generation successor to Yum in the Fedora packaging world is out with a new version.

DNF 0.4.18 is the new release today and with it comes support for distro-syncing specific subsets of packages, has moved to support objectified groups, and there's API improvements. With the API work, the DNF Anaconda can now support excluding packages from transactons at the user's request.

For early adopters and developers, the latest DNF package manager version is available via Fedora Rawhide. DNF isn't expected to replace Yum by default until at least the Fedora 22 release in 2015, but its development continues in a steadfast manner in large part by Aleš Kozumplík.
