Linux 3.13-rc2 Kernel Released With Lots Of Fixes

Linus Torvalds is celebrating Black Friday by giving out a great deal for Linux users: the Linux 3.13-rc2 kernel is now available for testing and regression spotting.

For those that don't keep track of the Linux kernel Git activity, the Linux 3.13-rc2 kernel was tagged this afternoon and still under the "One Giant Leap for Frogkind" codename. At the time of publishing no official release announcement has been issued, but in always monitoring the Git activity, nearly everything the past week since -RC1 has been bug/regression fixes for the Linux 3.13 kernel.

With the initial fallout from Linux 3.13 being addressed, new benchmarks will be forthcoming looking at the performance and new features; if you missed it, yesterday's 21-way AMD / NVIDIA / Intel graphics comparison did feature the Linux 3.13 Git kernel with the latest Mesa development code too as did the open-source NVIDIA GeForce 700 series driver testing earlier in the week.
