NVIDIA released version 0.7 of libvdpau, the VDPAU wrapper library for interacting with driver-specific Video Decode and Presentation API for Unix (VDPAU) implementations.

The libvdpau 0.7 release takes care of a file descriptor leak when libvdpau is loaded multiple times and it also adds support for the DRI_PRIME environment variable. When DRI_PRIME is present, the proper DRI2 device is then queried for the driver. Additionally, libvdpau 0.7 fixes some compile-time warnings.

More information on NVIDIA's open-source VDPAU wrapper library can be found from their release announcement by Aaron Plattner of their Unix/Linux graphics driver engineering team.
