FreeBSD Made Much Progress These Past Few Months

The FreeBSD Foundation has published their latest quarterly status report to make known the current state of the popular BSD operating system project.

Covered in this report is the work on the AMD GPU KMS driver porting from Linux, updates to the compiler toolchain, GNOME 3.6 support is underway, KDE 4.10.2 and Qt 5.0.2 are now available to FreeBSD users, the LLVM LLDB debugger has seen FreeBSD improvements, and there's a new FreeBSD project to improve the scalability of its virtual memory subsystem. There's also been Google Summer of Code projects underway, better Xen support, Xfce desktop updates for FreeBSD, ZFS file-system TRIM support, and numerous other activities that happened these past three months.
