The Calligra open-source office/productivity suite for KDE users is nearing their 2.7 release in the next month. Today, however, the Calligra 2.7 beta was released and it's feature complete.

Calligra 2.7 is now only in bug-fixing mode following the branching and beta release. Among the features to find with the Calligra 2.7 Beta for Words, the word processor, is a new look for the toolbox and various other enhancements. The Author writing application supports the EPUB3 format, there's now support for book covers using images, the spreadsheet application (Sheets) has new support for pivot tables, the project management application has new export filters for OpenDocument Spreadsheet / CSV, and the Krita 2D paint application has new grapescale masks and various other improvements.

These are just some of the new Calligra 2.7 features, but if you're interested in learning more, visit Calligra.org.
