Ubuntu 13.04 Is About 13% Complete

For those curious about the state of Ubuntu 13.04's development, there is a convenient status page to reflect the overall condition of this forthcoming Ubuntu Linux that is codenamed the Raring Ringtail.

The current state of Ubuntu 13.04 can be found at status.ubuntu.com. As of publishing, the overall completion status is 13% of 1704 items. Of the essential work, there's only 8% completed tasks, 16% for high, 13% medium, and 12% for low. With 1704 work items from 183 blueprints and there being 113 days left until the planned Ubuntu 13.04 release, about 13 work items need to be completed per day.

Among the Ubuntu 13.04 features that will hopefully happen include using XZ packages, new methods of developer engagement, Ubuntu TV enhancements, Hybrid Graphics (Optimus) improvements, the Linux 3.8 kernel, Unity widgets, Unity performance improvements, and much more.

Ubuntu 13.04 is expected for release on the 25th of April while the beta release is expected for March. The Debian Import Freeze is happening in mid-February.
