CPU Scaling On DragonFlyBSD, Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL
Yesterday I shared the latest round of BSD vs. Linux vs. Solaris performance benchmarks for a variety of workloads. In this article today are a couple extra results that happened during this recent performance testing on the Intel Core i7 3960X Extreme Edition.
The results that are available on OpenBenchmarking.org look at the performance of DragonFlyBSD, Ubuntu Linux 12.10, and CentOS 6.3 when the 12-thread Intel Core i7 3960X EE CPU had 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 threads exposed -- as controlled from the motherboard's BIOS.
The raw results are in 1212083-RA-BSDSCALES74 or here are the normalized results on OpenBenchmarking.org to see them against the single-core values.
