ASRock has been in the business of designing relatively inexpensive motherboards since it was established in 2002, as a division of ASUS, and is devoted to delivering creative, considerate, and cost effective products to the PC market. Although the motherboards they design may not be able to break any performance or overclocking records, the engineers at ASRock certainly push the limits when it comes to creativity and the possibilities for both AMD and Intel motherboards. ASRock's products range from motherboards supporting multiple socket types to motherboards offering both AGP/PCI Express graphics support along with DDR/DDR2, and finally motherboards that offer upgradeable support for components that are not yet available to the general public. Part of ASRock's success through these bizarre motherboard designs and low cost manufacturing has been accomplished by implementing Chipsets from alternative manufacturers such as ALI, ULI, SiS, and VIA. Through the stacks of ASRock motherboards we have tested, they have always managed to provide a reasonable level of Linux compatibility with their inventive products. Even though ASRock may not have the market share of Abit, ASUS, or DFI, we have always been intrigued by what they have been able to provide when it comes to the demiurgic possibilities. Today from ASRock America, we have their latest AMD creation, the 939Dual-SATA2. In addition to offering AGP and PCI Express dual support the motherboard even has an upgradeable interface for AMD's future CPU socket along with all of the standard bells and whistles such as SATA2, Cool 'n' Quiet Technology, and 7.1 surround sound.

As we have become accustom to over the years, included with the ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 were strictly the essentials needed to get the motherboard operational. Unlike a portion of motherboard manufacturers who over-pack their motherboards with a bank of accessories, ASRock takes the limited route to ultimately pass the savings down to the consumer. With the motherboard, we received a 4-pin molex to SATA power adapter, one SATA transfer cable, 939Dual-SATA2 user's manual, driver CD, VGA installation guide, one ribbon IDE cable, one ribbon FDD cable, I/O panel, and finally the motherboard. Similar to the ASRock 754/939 Bridge Card, a Socket M2 Bridge Card will be available separately for use with the 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard.
