Last week BioShock: Infinite was finally released for Steam on Linux. Following the premiere of that game for Linux, posted were the AMD Catalyst Linux results for this game followed by a preview of the AMD vs. NVIDIA graphics card results. For those curious about the performance of this game for a broader graphics card selection, here's the BioShock: Infinite results from eighteen different graphics cards while running this new Linux game.

The results in this article contain more NVIDIA GeForce Linux results than what was shared last week when showing how BioShock Infinite runs much faster with the NVIDIA Linux driver than AMD Catalyst. The NVIDIA test line-up today spans from the GeForce GTX 550 Ti Fermi to the newest GeForce GTX 960/970/980 Maxwell graphics cards.

For those wondering about NVIDIA's performance lead for this game, over the weekend I also delivered specialized NVIDIA OpenGL threaded optimization tests to look at the impact for this game and other Linux titles.

All of the BioShock Infinite Linux benchmarks were run in a fully-automated and standardized manner using the open-source Phoronix Test Suite benchmarking software. Tests were done with the very latest NVIDIA/AMD Linux binary graphics drivers. The open-source Mesa/Gallium3D drivers couldn't be tested since they don't yet support OpenGL 4.2 as needed by this game.
