Up today are benchmarks comparing the Intel open-source Linux kernel graphics (DRM) driver performance on recent releases with the HD 4000 "Ivy Bridge" graphics processor as found on the Intel Core i7 3770K processor.

For this testing of the Intel Core i7 3770K CPU on Ubuntu Linux, the HD 4000 graphics performance were compared from the Linux 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, and 3.7 Git kernels. The Linux 3.7 kernel was a Git snapshot from 1 December. The different kernel releases were tested in conjunction with Mesa 9.0 and the xf86-video-intel 2.20 driver.

The Linux 3.7 kernel will be officially released soon and boasts a number of interesting features, including many Intel DRM driver changes.
