Razer is a company that began by producing high-end gaming mice like the Copperhead and since that point they have ventured into other gaming products like high-end sound cards, headphones, and mouse pads. Back in 2006 we looked at the Razer Tarantula, but the Arctosa has now succeeded that gaming keyboard. The Razer Arctosa is a moderately priced gaming keyboard that offers macro keys, media keys, 1000Hz Ultrapolling, and other features to entice gamers. The big question though is how well this keyboard with all of its functionality works under Linux.

Features:

- Slim Keycap with Hyperesponse Technology
- Selective anti-ghosting capabilities
- Fully-programmable keys with macro capabilities
- Media keys
- Gaming mode option
- 10 customizable software profiles
- 1000Hz Ultrapolling / 1ms response time
- Detachable wrist rest

The Arctosa keyboard packaging looks similar to that of other Razer products with the dark theme, font, etc. The back of the Arctosa packaging lists the various features for this keyboard along with several different views of the keyboard. The Arctosa was well packaged and had arrived safely. Included with the USB keyboard was a quick start guide, Windows software CD, Razer certificate of authenticity, and two Razer logo stickers. Razer offers the Arctosa in silver and black models, with our review sample being the silver. The keyboard itself on both models is black, but the lettering color on the keys is what is different.
