In the past we have looked at several different Acer LCDs and generally have been quite pleased with them. Acer offers LCD panels that range from cost-effective 17" models to higher-end models that are much larger and offer additional features such as a metal stand, integrated audio, and HDMI. For those that are interested in a large high-resolution screen with HDMI support and a fast response time, but that isn't too expensive, Acer has the P243WAid. The Acer P243WAid is a 24" LCD that fits these traits and sells for about $390 USD, but it lacks some extra features such as height and pivot adjustments.

Features:

- 24" Widescreen
- WUXGA Display
- 1920 x 1200 Maximum Resolution
- 0.27mm Dot Pitch
- 2ms GTG Response Time
- VGA, DVI, HDMI Inputs
- 160° H / 160° V Viewing Angle
- 400 cd/m2 Brightness

The Acer P243WAid had arrived in similar packaging to the previously reviewed Acer LCDs. Protecting the product was a heavy cardboard box equipped with a plastic handle. The exterior of the box was generic to the Acer P243W series. Inside there were two large blocks of Styrofoam protecting the screen. In addition, protecting the front was a thin layer of foam and it was all encased inside of a heavy-gauge plastic bag. Everything had arrived safely and there were no dead pixels with our unit. Included with the LCD monitor were a user's guide, driver/software CD, US power cable, VGA cable, and DVI cable. This monitor does support HDMI, but no cable is included. The plastic stand for this 24" LCD comes pre-attached, but it can be removed for those interested in using a VESA mount. This monitor is backed by a three-year limited warranty.
