Warsow

Warsow, an open-source first person shooter, was the focus of today's ATI experience. Warsow is based upon the Qfusion engine, which is based upon the GPL version of the Quake 2 engine. It is rare in the form that the game uses cartoon-ish graphics, and has a unique style to its fast-paced action. Though the game is certainly no Quake 4 when it comes to graphics, it is certainly a step-up from some open-source games. When maximizing all of the graphical effects for the game, the X1800XT and 8.26.18 drivers had no troubles handling the load -- with most of the time being in excess of 100FPS. The game was certainly playable with this high-end Radeon card, and it didn't seem to posses any ATI specific problems that Cube or Nexuiz had in the past.
