X-Video

Having brought fourth the TexturedVideo discovery on the Phoronix Forums earlier today, I figured it was a good time to better look at the X1800XT with video playback using mplayer on the Big Desktop. To jump straight to it, when the video driver was set to xv, X would restart and then return to the GDM. Several changes were also made to the xorg.conf when it comes to the overlay, and other parameters, but every time X would restart when trying to use X-Video with mplayer. Though, using xvinfo did properly display the ATI Radeon AVIVO Video adapter. When learning anymore information on this matter, it will be passed along.
