Wayland 1.12 RC2 Released, Libinput 1.5.0 Is Out
Ahead of the GNOME 3.22 release with much better Wayland support and Fedora 25 potentially using Wayland by default, there's a new Wayland/Weston release candidate to report on today along with the libinput 1.5 release.
The Wayland 1.12 release has been pushed back by a week as a second release candidate was requested. This additional release candidate was requested due to developers wanting an extra few days of Weston testing given the recent libweston-desktop changes and needing to ensure it's stable.
Thus the Weston 1.12 RC2 has more churn than the very basic Wayland 1.11.94 release. Wayland 1.12.0 and Weston 1.12.0 should be officially released in about one week pending any other last minute issues. See our past Wayland 1.12 articles for more information on the features of this upcoming release.
Libinput 1.5 was released today by Peter Hutterer. This new release has code clean-ups, internal improvements, some touchpad handling changes, and tablet improvements. More details on that release here.
