Valve has announced today that pre-orders have started for the Steam Controller, Steam Link, and select Steam Machines.

The highly-anticipated Steam Controller can be pre-ordered, the Steam Link streaming device, and certain Steam Machines can be ordered from the Steam Store. If going for a pre-order, Valve promises the devices will ship in mid-October, which will be several weeks before the general availability of the devices. October 16 appears to be Valve's target date for honoring pre-orders.

Pre-orders are available for the US, Canada, and select EU countries. The Steam Controller can be pre-ordered for $49.99 USD, Steam Link for $49.99, and the Steam Machines vary in price. There's just two Steam Machines available for pre-ordering right now: the Steam Machine from Alienware starts out at $449.00 while the Syber starts at $499.00.
