PHORONIX
The long overdue overhaul of the Phoronix.com site layout is almost complete... It will begin rolling out in beta in the days ahead. With this new site will come a brand new appearance along with a first-rate mobile experience.

The new site layout was designed by Phoronix reader Jorge who has done a splendid job on making the site responsive and fitting well across all devices. The layout itself is also cleaner and should be all-around better than the current site design I made with my less than stellar visual artistic talent.

Right now I'm in the process of integrating the site design with our in-house content management system, PHXCMS, and expect to have it ready for beta in the days ahead.

The initial beta site will first be rolled out to those who have subscribed to Phoronix Premium. This is being done first to evaluate the feedback and requests of the paying Phoronix audience and ideally to hopefully inspire some frequent Phoronix readers to joining our premium service, which keeps the site running and complements the advertisements as one of the main revenue sources -- and being able to pay for the new design, etc. Phoronix Premium gets you ad-free viewing of the site, single-page viewing of otherwise multi-page articles, and other benefits such as early access to the new site.

Some of the current screenshots are attached. Stay tuned later this week for more information.
