Among The Tech News From The Wiesn...

Posted by Michael Larabel on September 26, 2011

Here's among the news stories this past week from the Oktoberfest wiesn...

- Transgaming / Cedega is quite likely to be acquired by a public company in the next quarter or less.

- Amazon's Netherlands expansion is imminent.

- Amazon Kindle Tablet is soon (this week? Their "all hands" meetings tend to explicitly not mention anything related to the Kindle. Plus public speculation quite signals the announcement this week, at least according to their UK branch.)

- Amazon's next geographical expansion will be either Brazil or Australia... It's more than likely Amazon Australia, at long last.

- "Dampfnudeln" was demonstrated at the wiesn.

- Solaris 11 is FINALLY imminent.

- VirtualBox has some interesting features coming soon.

- (More) Oracle shake-ups are expected soon.
