AMD Sends Family 12, Torpedo Code To Coreboot

Posted by Michael Larabel on June 22, 2011

AMD's in the middle of honoring their commitment to support Coreboot under all future CPUs. AMD has just added support to Coreboot for their Family 12 CPUs with SB900 (Hudson-2) chipset. They've also added AMD Torpedo motherboard support, which is their reference platform for AMD Family 12 CPUs with the SB900 chipset.

AMD Family 12 consists of the new AMD Fusion "Llano" APUs as well as Brazos.

This recent AMD code was committed here and here. More code is also expected to be pushed shortly.

Besides AMD's statement concerning Coreboot support on all future products, as noted in another Phoronix exclusive, there's other OEMS closely looking at Coreboot and to ship it on consumer products in the coming months.
