Gentoo Linux 11.0 LiveDVD Released

Posted by Michael Larabel on March 08, 2011

While stable, tagged releases really aren't important to Gentoo users due to its rolling-release model, a Gentoo 11.0 LiveDVD was released today by its developers.

Gentoo Linux 11.0 ships with the Linux 2.6.37 kernel, GCC 4.5.2, KDE SC 4.6, GNOME 2.32, Xfce 4.8, OpenOffice 3.2.1, Mozilla Firefox 3.6, and various other package updates. Gentoo 11.0 also features writable AuFS support for emerging new packages from the LiveDVD and persisistancy support for the home directory.

The Gentoo Linux LiveDVD 11.0 is available in x86 and x86_64 flavors. The release announcement with download links can be found at Gentoo.org.
