KDE Software Compilation 4.5.3 Released

Posted by Michael Larabel on November 03, 2010

There's already been a lot of news this week regarding KDE with their developers thinking about merging the KDE libraries into Qt, performance optimizations for KWin in KDE 4.6, and more performance improvements with the experimental Qt Scene Graph. This morning there's more news coming out with the monthly bug-fixing update to the KDE Software Compilation.

KDE SC 4.5.3 has just been released with a variety of fixes and other maintenance work to the collection of KDE packages. The highlights for this release according to the press release is a fix for a KSharedDataCache bug when daylight savings time changed, icons in Dolphin now being positioned correctly when changing the zoom level, and Okular better supporting the DjVu and XPS back-ends.

The KDE Software Compilation 4.5.3 press release can be found at KDE.org. KDE Software Compilation 4.6 is the next major release and it should be out in late January.
